Will a caring responsibility, e.g. childcare or healthcare, limit your participation in the conference?
CHIIR 2022 is pleased to offer carers' grants to help with such situations. These grants are intended to cover extra costs for caring for dependents during the conference. To apply, please fill out the following form and let us know a fair estimate of your costs as well as how you arrived at that estimate. For example, you may want to use the average hourly rate for childcare where you live. We will acknowledge all applications. The deadline for application is 15 February, anywhere on earth, and we will let you know the outcome as soon as possible after that date.
Some further guidelines: We will, of course, keep all applications and their contents confidential, and only use your information to allocate grants. We will, however, give the ACM a list of successful applicants, so we can arrange payment. Grants will be reimbursements (i.e. you will have to cover the cost up front, and you will be repaid) and we will require receipts for the expenses you claim. You can apply for funding before registering for CHIIR, but must register for the conference to receive any reimbursement.

The SIGIR Student Travel Grant Program provides funding for students to help cover the cost of travel and lodging to the following SIGIR-sponsored conferences: SIGIR, CIKM, CHIIR, ICTIR, JCDL and WSDM.
