For many years, artificial intelligence has been heralded as the next big thing in digitization. Now the breakthrough seems to be here. It took the ChatGPT language model just two months from its release in November 2022 to gather 100 million users worldwide. The music service Spotify needed for this about four and a half years, the social network Instagram two and a half years.
ChatGPT responds, seemingly intelligently, with texts to questions and calls to action. Other applications of generative AI generate images, music or programming code. Generative AI will not only change work processes in creative professions such as journalism, writing, photography, design or software development. The 13th edition of #digit-R – Consequences of the Digital World asks “KO by AI? Is Artificial Intelligence Taking Over Power in Economy and Society?”.
Experts such as Kata Vuk, employee at the Chair for Machine Learning at the University of Regensburg, Diana Schneider from the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI) in Karlsruhe, and the Entrepreneur Tjorben Bogon from AIR, the initiative Artificial Intelligence Regensburg, will explain how the tools work, what they can do and what changes in everyday life and the working world we have to adapt to.
Monday, 10-16-2023, starting at 07:00 p.m., Degginger Regensburg
