Excursion to the Technology Campus Cham – Model Factory and Digital Twins

At the end of the “Artificial Intelligence” program year, the “Akademie Ostbayern – Böhmen” (Academy East Bavaria – Bohemia) travels to the Technology Campus Cham of the Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) on Thursday, December 15th, 2022.

Mr. Christian Schopf M.B.A. from DIT, Head of the Center for Applied Research of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, will inform about the project “Model Factory and Digital Twins”, which is being worked on together with the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.

Both universities have specialized “model factories” with physical production facilities/laboratories, such as 3D printing in Cham. The other institution has a “digital twin” – a digital version of the model factory, where interventions in production processes, but also e.g. in the technical system, can be made from distance. The digital interventions are then implemented physically on site.

The explanations by Mr. Schopf are supplemented by demonstrations in the laboratories, led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Aumer.

Thursday, 12-15-2022, 04:00 p.m. – 08:00 p.m., Technology Campus Cham
