From March 7th to 9th, 2021, the Regensburg Medical Image Computing team of the OTH Regensburg will host the annual “Image Computing in Medicine” (Bildverarbeitung für die Medizin – BVM) workshop. The program offers tutorials, keynotes and an exciting supporting program.
Medical image computing is the key technology for modern image-supported diagnostics and surgeries. German-speaking image processors have been meeting at the “Image Computing in Medicine” workshop since 1993.
The aim of the workshop is to present current research results and to deepen the discussions between medical and technical scientists, industry representatives and clinical users. The workshop is also explicit adressed to young researchers who want to report on their Bachelor or Master projects. Contributions from European colleagues are also welcome. English and German are equal conference languages.
The area of Machine Learning, especially Deep Learning, is of particular importance for medical image computing. Nevertheless, the workshop covers all areas of this topic in detail, especially algorithms, hardware and software systems and their clinical application:
- Machine learning and artificial intelligence
- Convolutional Neural Networks and Deep Learning
- Imaging and image acquisition
- Visible light, endoscopy, microscopy
- Image segmentation and analysis
- Image registration and fusion
- Visualization and animation
- Anatomical atlases
- Time series analysis
- Secure exchange of medical image data
- Patient-specific simulation and planning
- Computer-assisted diagnosis
- Virtual / Augmented Reality
- VR simulators and 3D haptic interaction
- Biomechanical modeling
- Computer-assisted intervention
- Instrument and patient location and tracking
- Computer-assisted surgery planning
- Clinical application of computer-assisted systems
- Validation and quality assurance
- Image-based robots, surgical simulators
- more…
