Workshop: Artificial intelligence in health

Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming one of the most important initiators of digital innovation – in general and in the health sector too. AI is already being used in research and development as well as in medical care. This particularly includes machine learning in imaging diagnostics. Here, AI supports the attending physician, for example in the early detection of tumors, and outperforms human experts.

In the interpretation of rapidly increasing, electronically available data in health care and clinical research, the methods of AI play a key role.

With this virtual workshop, we want to discuss the challenges and potentials of AI in the health sector at Regensburg together with representatives from research institutions and companies. As part of the AI initiative “Applied Artificial Intelligence Regensburg” – AIR, we will jointly define technological priorities and develop possible approaches for future joint R&D projects.
