Isabel Red, master student of Information Science at the University of Regensburg, has shared her experience report on her Erasmus stay. From 2019-09-15 to 2020-02-29 she was at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. In her very positive report, she speaks, among other things, about offered courses, the recognition of course achievements, accommodation, formalities and financing.
At the Free University of Bozen – Bolzano, Isabel took 4 courses with which seh was very satisfied. These all fell into the area of computer science. CS is divided into two seperate areas: Data Analyst and Data Management. With the support of Mr. Ludwig, the student was able to contribute all the points from the courses to Regensburg.
In her Erasmus experience report, Isabel describes the special features of the accommodation search below. Interested parties should pay particular attention ti the registration deadlines for student dormitories. The places there are occupied very quickly. However, other platforms such as Facebook offer the opportunity to look for shared appartments.
Some formalities must be followed before entering the country. Foreign students need the Italian tax number, which can easily be applied for online. You will then receive this by post. Or you can have it issued at the local office for income. The tax number is free. No other formalities such as a visa are required.
Isabel financed her semester abroad through the Erasmus money and the Auslandsbafög. Interested parties can obtain the requirements for this on request.
The conclusion about the semester abroad in Bolzano is positive. Bolzano is a very beautiful city and offers many leisure activities in addition to the university. You can go skiing in winter and hike in summer. The climate is also very mild.
