Miss Dr. Liana Movsesyan is a Smart Data Expert at Infineon.
E-mobility, smart-homes or mobile payment – wherever we connect the real and the digital world: Technologies from Infineon Technologies AG are there. Semiconductor and system solutions from Infineon contribute to a better future – making our world easier, safer and greener. These tiny, barely visible electronic components have become an indispensable part of our daily lives. They help to feed regenerative energy into power grids with almost zero losses, tame power-hungry computers, safeguard the data flying through cyberspace and make our cars more energy-efficient. Our strategy has been guided by global megatrends, which will continue to shape the world in the future: demographic and social change, climate change and scarce resources, urbanization and digital transformation. From these megatrends, we derive our focus on the following growth areas: energy efficiency, mobility, security and the IoT & big data. Infineon’s deep understanding of ways to create a better future is what makes it so interesting for our project.
I work for Infineon Technologies AG in Regensburg and work as a smart data expert in front-end manufacturing.
The main focus of my work is on the search for applications of big data in the FE manufacturing and coordination of use cases: from idea to implementation. I am working closely with the internal departments at Infineon and looking for external partnerships for one Cooperation in the field of AI.
Together with experts, we evaluate and evaluate the ideas for AI application in the areas of e.g. Anomaly detection, image recognition and classification, predictive maintenance, etc. We develop one proof of concept and implement it successfully.
For years, Infineon has offered many students the opportunity to gain more insight into the industry Get topics. We also strive to work with the university in the field of AI. We offer students an excellent opportunity to work closely with our production colleagues work together, get access to different data and learn how we add value generate from a variety of data.
AI is a technology of the future that is already becoming routine in some areas. As in everyone The other area will involve students, in such topics, their theoretical knowledge in the field Deepen practice. This creates experience in real applications and provides additional know-how.

I studied semiconductor physics and materials science. I have many during my doctorate Data analysis carried out. So it was logical for me, both technical and analytical Combine skills and immerse yourself in AI applications in semiconductor manufacturing. We have a lot experienced data scientists, from whom I have learned a lot, and these skills help me my work very much. In addition, I always take the time to study myself.
I personally think that AI issues themselves aren’t as complicated and scary as they seem like. However, the implementation of AI brings changes, e.g. in mindset or IT infrastructure, and that’s what makes it difficult to deal with.
I like to think in more than three dimensions. I like to look for patterns and trends in data Things that are not obvious at first glance. There is so much information hidden in the data.
I have to say that I found out about the project based on this interview request. The website enabled me to get a quick understanding of the goal of the project, which I very much welcome. I hope the university will proactively work with industry partners in the region in the future to strengthen AI skills and become an AI-leading region.
